Exponent is a yield exchange protocol that came out of stealth at the end of 2024. It allows users to exchange variable yields for fixed yields within Solana DeFi and introduces a new class of assets, sharing similarities with bonds and strips for fixed and leveraged yield trading.
The team of contributors behind Exponent has years of experience working in Solana for leading teams and is backed by investors like Solana Ventures, RockawayX, Robot Ventures, Mechanism, and more.
We believe interest rate predictability is a fundamental primitive for any economy and aim to fill this gap within Solana DeFi through Exponent.
As our first operations hire, you will work directly with the founding team to build the operational backbone of a fast-scaling DeFi protocol — from legal coordination and compliance to hiring and day-to-day administration. This is a high-ownership role with wide scope.
Your responsibilities
- Legal & compliance — Coordinate with legal counsel on entity structuring, regulatory matters, and contract reviews. Ensure the team stays ahead of relevant legal requirements across jurisdictions.
- Hiring & people operations — Own the end-to-end hiring process: source candidates, manage pipelines, coordinate interviews, and support onboarding. Help build a strong team culture as we grow.
- Administration & tooling — Keep internal operations running smoothly: vendor management, tooling setup, expenses, and anything else needed to remove friction for the rest of the team.
- Ops infrastructure — Build scalable processes and systems from scratch. As our first ops hire, you will define how we operate — not just execute existing workflows.
Requirements
- Experience in operations, chief of staff, or a generalist role — ideally at a startup or fast-moving tech company
- Comfortable working across legal, HR, and administrative domains without being an expert in all of them
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Proactive and self-directed — you identify gaps and fix them without being asked
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Interest in crypto and DeFi is a plus, but not required
